Solved: Small Business Owner Struggles to Acquire New Customers

I am small business owner and finding difficult to get new customers. What I am doing wrong? My company, we make and sell good window coverings. Before, I was getting like 10-15 new customers a month, som from META Ads and some from referrals. This year its only like 5-8 orders and I dont know why. I want more orders but dont know how. Any ideas you can give to me? I tried lots of marketing but its not working.

  • Increased Competition: Have new competitors entered the market, or have existing competitors stepped up their marketing efforts?
  • Economic Factors: Changes in the economy could be impacting consumer spending on home improvements.

Identifying the root cause is the first step to finding the right solution.


We'll need to look at traffic quality and your website...

You mentioned that you've tried SEO. A quick look at your website shows me that this is the area you'd need to focus most on. It's lacking content that would show up in search results, which means people won't be able to find your site when they're searching for blinds.

I've seen other companies have success by publishing "how to" guides. For example:

  1. How to install window blinds
  2. How to measure windows for blinds
  3. How to clean window blinds

By publishing these articles and blog posts, you'll start to show up in search results, and people will find your website. After reading one of the articles, they might decide to buy blinds from you.


I'd say you need to give it more time...

Don't give up on SEO just yet! It's a long-term strategy, and it can take several months to see results. I'd say you need to give it more time, or focus on other options to drive more sales quickly.


Ramping Up Meta Ads

Since Meta Ads were previously successful for you, let's explore how to revitalize them:

  • New Creatives: Create fresh ad copy and visuals. Test different images, videos, and headlines. Consider user-generated content (UGC), as mentioned earlier.
  • Targeting Refinement: Revisit your targeting. Are you reaching the right audience? Experiment with different interests, demographics, and behaviors. Lookalike audiences based on your existing customers can also be effective.
  • Campaign Types: As suggested before, explore different campaign types. Search ads, display ads, social media ads, and shopping ads all have their strengths.
  • Performance Metrics: Closely monitor your ad performance. Pay attention to CTRs, CPCs, conversion rates, and cost per acquisition (CPA). Identify areas for improvement.

I did have a look at your website, and I do have some suggestions here. It may not be that intuitive, and I couldn't find a clear value proposition on the front page as to why I should buy from you over anyone else.

You should create a landing page that would clearly explain to your users the key benefits and value propositions of your window blinds, and why they should buy from you rather than anyone else. For example, do you offer:

  1. Free in-home consultation
  2. Free installation
  3. Superior materials
  4. Something else of value

I would try to highlight this at the forefront. You could use your landing page with Meta Ads to drive more traffic to your website.
